DISRUPTION (Pendleton Barcode)

For the first milestone project, I really honed my idea down in the second week. There was an intention, but I didn't really follow it too strictly. The QR code idea was something I wanted to explore for sure, as it felt really interesting for me to investigate how the patterns may fit together. How I would end up with my final product was just me eventually going with the flow and feeling out what was right for the design.

In our conversation about the designs, I'm heading in the right direction with how I am approaching my project. Got feedback on what colors I was going to use, I wanted to use either electronic colors (greens, blues, very matrixy) or warm earthy colors that resemble more the Pendleton designs. Warmer colors are what was recommended and I think I will give it a shot with all different types of warm colors, maybe one with the blues.

In my final product, it ended a lot more monotone. I ended going with this because I felt there was something really cool about seeing the design kinda integrated almost incognito like. I wanted to feel real, and that the design and everything else are almost like an Easter eggs. I also added the words "DISRUPTION" all around the barcode and a little headdress logo in the corner with a TM. I wanted to uphold this façade of the QR code being from a real company, but mix different elements of my culture within the barcode. I stylized aspects of the QR code to add to this.

I do feel like exploring this idea further, and maybe even try to add color as suggested by my group. This definitely falls into what I like to do personally for art, but this was whole lot more technical of a process for sure. I'd say I really enjoyed the process though, there was a lot to appreciate in the creation of the design.
